Covid Notification - updated February 2022
Please continue to hold on to your Barrie Concerts and Georgian Music tickets – When concerts are re-scheduled,your tickets will honoured. Information will be updated as soon as possible.
The Barrie Concerts began in November 1946 and Georgian Music in the 1990-91 season. Both continue to contribute greatly to the quality of life for residents of Barrie and the region around it. Both series present outstanding programmes of music performed by wonderful musicians from across Canada and around the world. Enjoy!
We continue to expose students and children to all of our performances. Every Barrie Concert performance provides a minimum of twenty tickets to our elementary and secondary school students selected by the schools.
Barrie has a local organization of private music teachers. They also are provided with twenty free tickets for students participating in the instruments being presented in the Sunday afternoon Georgian Music series.
The response and inspiration from the benefitting students has been rewarding.
Our three monthly Wednesday concert series of Midday Music with Shigeru, Seniors Serenade and Music at St. Andrews provides opportunities of performance to local schools and individual outstanding solo students to perform and show the community the quality of their music making. Seniors Serenade takes place on the second Wednesday of each month and is free to all. A number of nursing and retirement homes bus their residents to this event to enjoy the quality music.
