Nurhan Arman, Music Director
Maestro Nurhan Arman has conducted throughout Europe, Asia, South America, Canada and the US, returning regularly to many orchestras in Europe. Among the orchestras Maestro Arman has conducted are the Moscow Philharmonic, DeutschesKammerorchester Frankfurt, FilarmonicaItaliana, St. Petersburg State Hermitage Orchestra, Orchestre Regional d’Ile de France, Hungarian Symphony, Arpeggione Kammerorchester, Milano Classica and Belgrade Philharmonic. He begins the 2023-24 season with guest-conducting engagements in Austria and Italy before launching the Sinfonia Toronto season in October.
Dmitri Levkovich, Piano
Ukrainian-born Canadian pianist and composer Dmitri Levkovich’s performances were praised for "artistic sophistication far above the ordinary" (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) and "understanding of the music far beyond most young pianists” (American Record Guide). His original compositions were reviewed in the Philadelphia’s Broad Street Review - “…the musicians could jump right into the heartfelt melodies and big emotional surges of Levkovich’s slow movement.”
Mario Carbotta, Flute
An acclaimed soloist with Sinfonia Toronto in several previous seasons, flutist Mario Carbotta has performed with too many orchestras to count. A very short list would include the Mannheim Chamber Orchestra, Mainz Chamber Orchestra, Prague Virtuosi, Strings of La Scala, I Solisti Aquilani, Vienna Tonkünstler-Orchester, Israeli Symphonette, Orquestra do Algarve, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Orquestra Classica de Madeira, San Remo Philharmonic, Istanbul Symphony, and Radio-Televison Orchestra of the People’s Republic of China.
Sinfonia Toronto
Now in its 25th season, Sinfonia Toronto has toured in Europe, the US, South America and China, and performs in cities across Ontario. It has released six cds, including the JUNO winner Flanders Fields Reflections and Shadow & Light in May 2023 featuring three Canadian double concertos.
